Pipas

Filed under: Days in my life

I have just listened to the small interview at P3 pop with the all so lovely Lupe and Mark and I thought to myself. Why have not I written a word or two about their great album?! So here it goes…

As usual, I am not a reviewer and please, never consider me as one either. So… The first thought that hit me was once again, and I decided that I would build this post around those words. It is a nice song by The Spliffs, the lyrics go like this “She said “don´t leave a stone unturned
Don´t move too quickly or you´ll burn out on life
You don´t have to walk that extra mile
I´ll be there waiting if you need someone sometime”

It kind of, in someway maybe, tells us the story behind the album. It has taken a long time (well worth the wait!), one of the reasons being that they live in different countries today as you could hear on P3. But they left no stone unturned, they turn every redwine-rosy leaf of my heart.

The chorus goes like this “I find once again that my feet are moving
I find once again that I´m back on line

etc…. And they came to sweden, stole my heart, once again. But unlike the last time I had a full album to hold in my hands. To play on repeat. It is as wonderful as always, so if you have liked their previous releases you will most definetly love this one.

A song that was on their tour cd-r last year appeared as song #2 on the album, the album is by the way called Sorry Love

and it is released on Long lost cousin, since that cd-r I have loved it to pieces and I still do. So do yourself a popfavour and listen to this song (while watching the video) and then do Pipas a favour and buy the album=)

  1. Saw Pipas on thursday in brooklyn and though they are mesmerizing to watch, it looks like they’re having problems with the new songs; lupe screwed up like three times, at one point she was unable to keep up with the speed of the beats and looked completely frazzled. Nonetheless it was totally worth seeing, and opener The Ballet performed an excellent anti-war song.
