A weekend down south

Filed under: Days in my life

Well to start it of I have to say that Pipas was great! Even if they were nervous and so. I had a great time and I´m looking forward to their new album. From the club I went home to a neighbour from this years Emmaboda, after a while I left so that I would have time to sleep before leaving to Gothenburg. Well, lets just say that things didn´t quite go as I wanted them to. I managed to drop my cellphone and slip on a rock and bruise myself! It took me hours to find it again, and the last subway had gone by then. After a while I gave up and paid 350kr for a taxi home! I even managed to get 30min of sleep before leaving, and I was in a hurry to make the bus so I didn´t have time to buy something to drink so I sat there for 7 hours! Without any stops, thirsty and with three screaming kids beside me. It was fun! But finally I arrived in Gothenburg for a weekend of fun. I met some lovely people and heard great music! Cosyden was just as good as I had imagined, even better! I´m a bit tired right now so I´ll write more about it tomorrow. But here´s a picture of Dorotea and Nixon Well, it took me some days to manage to get time to write here again. Been a lot with work and early mornings. But now I have some time, 1 hour until I have to leave for work. Though I have to make falafel during that time, well I should manage! Here´s my weekend in gothenburg: After the busride I strolled around this for me unknown town and took a tram (for the first time!) to Bergsjön. There, propably inspired by Pipas I walked with my head down “…walking down the street looking at my feet..” and almost passed Mattias. We then walked to the apartment and as we came nearer you could hear the tunes of Nixon through the window as he was sound-checking. Right then I knew it would be a great day. Later on the other bands came and soundchecked as well, and then we sat down with a beer in our hands watching some old music vidoes and talked old memories. It was nice! Then people started dropping in and I was a little bit worried about the fact that aproximatly a hundred people would be in that apartment later on. Crowded rooms are really not my thing. But after a couple of beers it didn´t seem like such a problem. Propably because of the nice people there. Well, Agent Simple was first up. As I wrote earlier I saw him/them just recently, but it was just as good. Or maybe better, now I recognized some songs and as I said, the people were nice. To me thats a big part of a gig. And no, the “punk”-something song didn´t remind me of Strawberry Story song I mentioned after last time, well in terms of tempo change it does… How ever, Agent Simple are good. I can now say that I like them! After them it was time for Dorotea to play, well as you can see from the picture here above, they are local heroes in Gothenburg. And I can understand why, I think they are great and what ever Le Manchester wrote about their album you can forget, well the review was honest, but I think the album is among the top5 Swedish records this year! They seem to always get the crowd going and theres always a sing-along atmosphere. And the stagedive wasn´t all that bad either! hehe, considering the fact that it´s not all that high to the ceiling. Well, we would have wanted to hear “Kortedala” but you can´t always get what you want. All in all it was a great gig! At first I thought that they should have played last, considering that they have more drive in their songs then Nixon. But after have witnessed him I have to say that it was right having him play last. It was just great! I can´t try to find words in such a short time (have to shut down my computer in minutes..). But there´s one thing that has bothered me, I was standing in cue for the toilet and when I rushed from there to the living room Nixon had already started playing. I missed the first song! But I didn´t know it, so when it was time for a x-tra song I yelled “…mixtape!!” and Roger replyed “again?”. Why didn´t I just scream bedsitter of the world, unite! Well, these things happen… or do they? Well at least at Cosyden!=) That was all for now.

Holiday with me, or was it maggie?

Filed under: Days in my life

Friday again, time just seems to fly by. Tonight me and mr Popkompis are going here, will be fun. I´ve managed to miss Pipas everytime so far, so tonights the night! Hopefully I´ll get home quite early.

Because it´s going to be an early morning for me. I wanted to go by train, but when I was going to buy my ticket I was 7kr short! And 15-25min later when I went there to buy it, I managed to wind up with a very old and confused man who said that there wasn´t any tickets left (which was a lie, because I checked it when I got back home). So now I´m going by bus.
It´s going to be a lot of fun. The reason why I´m going there is that I just have to visit Cosyden, we have nothing like that here in Stockholm. I think it´s a great idea, and theres also great music! Tomorrow Nixon, Dorotea and Agent simple are playing, could it get much better?

Feels like sunday

Filed under: Days in my life

Well, it felt like sunday. Maybe because it was sunday and that ment I had to work. And my work isn´t all that stimulating. But this day I had brought with me a pair of speakers, a cd-player and a walkman. They would, and did, help me through the day. It began with a cassette that I recorded this summer, with the beautiful song by Cherry Orchard-”Feels like sunday”. So i recommend you to do the same! that is if you have a job where you feel that you have to kill hours. This is the cure. It´s all you need. People propably looked strange at the boy with the curly hair standing behind the counter dancing and singing along to songs like Autohaze-”Undecided” . “….and who cares, you might really like it….”

With the sun came friday fun

Filed under: Days in my life

Friday fun with me
As I wrote yesterday the day would begin with a ale and some good music. I found this great british ale with a very nice bottle, a cheer joy for the eye! And the taste was just as nice as the bottle! And there at the shop I received some good news, my Isobel Campbell-”Amorino” on vinyl had finally come! The distributer, or the record label, were very slow with shipping it. The order was sent so long ago that I can´t even remember when it was. To be honest I had already long ago given up and forgot all about the record. But it was a delight for the eye. But I didn´t have the heart to take it with me to Trädgården, some drunk person would have bumped into it or something. And that drunk person would propably have been me, a friend that I haven´t seen for many months was there so I got a bit carried away, if I say so hehe. But it was fun! Agent Simple played some nice tunes, one of the songs reminded me alot about Strawberry Story-”I never loved you”, and that can´t be bad, or can it? I haven´t decided yet… We´ll see after next week when I´m going to see him again (he had a band with him at trädgården). Well now I better hurry so that I can go get my record before I start work. And remember, a lot of people act well, but few talk well, that shows that talking is much the more difficult and also the finer. I myself suck at both. Over and out.

High tech

Filed under: Days in my life

Internet is something that I have had for a long time. My mom used to work for the national television and we got to use their internet. We were propably among the first in Sweden to have it at home. But still, still I can´t do anything, I don´t know anything! This is all new to me, this with homepages and html and stuff. But hopefully it´ll get better.

Today is also a sunny day, it can even turn out to be a good day! Later on I´m going to my favorite recordshop for a friday ale, a good medium temperatured ale with good music and good people! From there it´s off to “Trädgården” to go and see Agent Simple and Blood Music, though I´ll propably be sitting down smoking a cigarett during Blood Music, I don´t really like them. I´m looking forward to this day, feels like it´s going to be a good day. I even managed to put up a page here, though I didn´t manage to figure out a smart way to link to it, so it´s “My Interviews”, or you can just click here: My Interviews. I put up an interview with The Haircuts, whom I really love! I´ll propably go and put their ep on right now. Hopefully you´ll enjoy it and this day. Good bye for now.

This is not me

Filed under: Days in my life

Just so that you know, this is not a picture of me eating.
picture of me
This is not Artémij Clapp. I´m not a wimp, I´m not wearing a “i wish i was unpopular”-pin, I don´t listen to wimpy music. This is not me. And the “pop”-picture is not too big.

First time morning fun

POP!

Well, now I´ve finally gone and got myself a blog. It´s a shame I don´t know anything about these thing. But I bet I´ll learn. Today is the first day of Thee Power Of Twee, right now I´m sitting here singing along to The Desert Wolves-”Passion in the afternoon” and thinking about what I should be writing about here. I guess it´s going to be a lot about music, I´m right now thinking about doing an interview with a brittish band that hasn´t released their record yet, but which I still have, a fucking great record. Best so far this year if you ask me! Well, now I´m going to try and figure out all the functions here. Until next time.
